NOLS: AN EDUCATIONAL VALUE
Most NOLS courses cost just $ 140 per day. When you invest in a NOLS course you benefit from all of the elements that make
NOLS the best value in the outdoors:
THE BEST TEACHERS IN THE BUSINESS | You'll learn more because NOLS demands more experience and training from its
instructors than any other outdoor program.
NOLS EXPEDITION PLANNING | You'll explore real wilderness. NOLS knows the routes and holds permits in some of the world's
deepest backcountry.
TOP OF THE LINE EQUIPMENT AND GOOD EATS | You'll be happy and comfortable using equipment designed to NOLS specs
and preparing meals using good ingredients and the NOLS Cookery, the most acclaimed cookbook in the outdoors.
NOLS INDUSTRY-LEADING RISK MANAGEMENT PROGRAM | You'll be a responsible wilderness traveler learning from the
leaders of the Wilderness Risk Managers Committee and the conveners of the Wilderness Risk Management Conference.
NOLS PUBLIC POLICY | You'll travel awe-inspiring wild country and develop a wildland ethic. NOLS doesn't just explore the
backcountry, we have a department of dedicated staff working to protect it.
NOLS CURRICULUM AND RESEARCH | You'll achieve because NOLS constantly fine-tunes its educational program based on
research and more than 40 years of experience.
NOLS COLLEGE CREDIT PROGRAM | You'll receive credit for your NOLS experience. NOLS has developed relationships on
college campuses across the country making it easy for you to get the credit you deserve.
FINANCIAL AID
While a NOLS course is a great value, many students need assistance to achieve their educational goals. That's why we offer the
best financial aid resources in outdoor education. Contact the NOLS admission office or visit www.nols.edu for more information
and applications.
NOLS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM | More than $ 900,000 in scholarship aid is available at NOLS every year. Scholarships are
awarded on a rolling basis and are based on merit and need.
CONSORTIUM AGREEMENTS | Students at a college that accepts credit earned for a NOLS semester may be able to use their
federal financial aid through a consortium agreement between NOLS and the college.
FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID AND AMERICORPS | Central Wyoming College (CWC) processes federal financial aid and Ameri-
Corps stipends for NOLS students.
VETERANS ADMINISTRATION BENEFITS | Many NOLS courses are eligible for VA Benefits. VA refund policies apply.
